The membership of the Cranberry Lake Boat Club (CLBC) had their Annual Meeting at the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, July 8, 2023. 70 people attended.
Karen Soltau & Scott McWharf put together their culinary skills and prepared a delicious dinner for everyone. Nick Hunter organized the event. Randy Young recruited the guest speaker, Mark Hall. Hall’s talk about the J&L Site Cleanup at Newton Falls was very interesting and there were lots of questions.
As Commodore, I gave a club update. While discussing the Community Improvement Projects (CIP) Fund, I opened the discussion with a question to the group as to any ideas for future CIP projects. A quick hand went up by one of the young ladies (third grader) attending (Polly Redd’s Granddaughter) and she proposed that next 4th of July everyone should get free ice cream! Her suggestion was well received.
To the community at large, does anyone have any Community Improvement ideas? [Editor’s note: You can leave your ideas on the Comments section of this blog post.]
Thanks,
Halsey Bagg
