Wanakena was full of the sights and sounds of its annual Fourth of July Parade. By most accounts, it was one of the biggest crowds ever, with folks enjoying everything from hot dogs and refreshments to great music and the always popular duck race. This year, a few of the intrepid rubber duckies got stuck on a rock. Hats off to Lisa Plumley Mintz, who waded in the Oswegatchie to make sure the racers had a chance to reach the finish line. Thanks again, to Otto’s Abode and all the participants and volunteers who made the parade happen.

A cool drone video by Charlie Jerome also caught some of the Fourth of July celebrations on Cranberry Lake. The camera catches fun off the dock and beautiful views of the lake from the top of Bear Mountain. How lucky we are to celebrate and enjoy this wonderful place!
